Ruth: Veterinary Technician CVT
Ruth received her Bachelor's degree in Theater from Bard College in upstate NY in 2005. Post-college she worked as an administrator at Northwestern University to support her work in the theater. She worked as an actor in theaters throughout Chicago and served as literary manager for her own theater company. After a few years of working a day job that just paid the bills, she decided to take a different approach and pursue a career that she was passionate about.
Her love for animals drew her to the veterinary field and she received her Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology from Fox College in 2011. She has worked at Premier Veterinary Group as an ICU Technician, Metropolitan Veterinary Center as Head Tech, MedVet Chicago as a Surgery and Anesthesia Technician, and Forest Glen Animal Hospital as Lead Tech. Her favorite part of working as a CVT has been caring for animals, helping them to recover from trauma or surgery, and getting to know the wonderful people she works with who share her passion for Veterinary Medicine. When she's not at work, she still enjoys going to plays, reading, pet sitting, playing nerdy board games, but above all snuggling with her dog Ralph and cat Zoot.
